Sober Season- The Best Non-Alcoholic Beverages We Have Tried

Non-alcoholic beverages have officially hit the mainstream. The inescapable urge to pop bottles and celebrate with a toast is no longer relegated to only boozy beverages. Nowadays, we are all looking for more mindful ways to connect and actually remember our conversations the next day. With THC edibles gaining popularity, removing alcohol from the equation is a smart way to host any gathering. We voted on the best non-alcoholic beverages and made some recommendations below.

Water is nice, but let’s be real, today’s taste buds are looking for more than just moisture. Here, we round up some of our favourite tipples that don’t include alcohol.

The best part? It doesn’t have to break the bank, either. Most non-alcoholic beverages come in at a much lower price point, so you can invest in a few different options to offer a slew of fun beverages.

Consider layering drinks and creating ‘cocktails’ with a few non-alcoholic ingredients. Clever adaptations of your favourite traditional drinks are fun ways to merge traditions.

Now in an easy-open bottle, Silver Swallow Sparkling Kombucha is available in both rosé and blanc. Order from Mama Earth Organics. Read more on Silver Swallow here.

Individually bottled Gruvi is another dry take on Prosecco. We love the single portion size and the canned wines. New to their catalogue is the IPA and Mocha Stout, both of which are already award-winng.

Beer drinkers will also favour the robust flavours of Harmon’s Jack Pine and Lunchbox IPA. Having a variety of different beers encourages guests to taste and compare the subtle complexities, creating conversation starters that go beyond mere icebreakers.

Classic cocktails in a can are a whole category of its own. Ready to drink cocktails are happily also easy to enjoy in the best non-alcoholic beverage section too. Atypique is easy to drink, and to find, with Gin and Tonic and more sophisticated drinks resting alongside the others in your local grocery store.

The Floreale seems to have vanished from sight, but the Vibrante is so tasty and flavourful, a perfect dupe to start any faux-negroni. It’s also delightful over a big ice cube, with a slice of orange and fizzy soda water. Look for Vibrante and a slew of other good non-alcs at Cocktail Emporium.

Seedlip is arguably the first big name to go to market with its elixirs. Botanical and citrusy, these tinctures are the start of any punchy drink.
