Motherhood can be an overwhelming time. The early weeks are a blur of sleep deprived days, worrying about almost every detail. The toddler years are spent running around, making sure our precious cargo stays safe and out of harms way. Then come the chauffeur years. Hockey practice, dance lessons, tutoring; we want our kids to have the best we can offer them. But what about us moms? How do we slow down and make sure we are taken care of? Have you been to Ste. Anne’s Spa, yet?
The editors of Auburn Lane have all spent much needed pampering time at the luxurious Ste. Anne’s Spa in Grafton, Ontario. Located an hour and a half outside of Toronto, this spa can be enjoyed for the day or as an overnight guest.
When you arrive at Ste. Anne’s Spa you will immediately be transported to relaxing atmosphere where cell phones are on silent and bathrobes and flip flops are the main dress code. A beautiful, old stone archway leads you down a garden path towards the main spa building where you will be greeted with minted water, comfortable couches and a tour of the facilities. Once the formalities are over, the spa is all yours. Heed our advice and head straight to the change rooms and put on your bathing suit and bathrobe. This is your time to relax.
The treatments at Ste. Anne’s Spa are top notch. Each one us at Auburn Lane indulged in a different service. The Aroma Hot Stone Massage will slowly release the tension in your muscles using the gentle pressure and heat from the stones in combination with the essential oil aroma of your choice.
The Chakra Awareness treatment will take you into a “zen-like” state, helping you reconnect with your Chakras. Through a blend of different techniques, including relaxation massage, heat therapy and the stimulation of specific energy points, this service will make you aware of all 7 energy centers and what is required to help balance them.
And who can turn down a Eucalyptus Body Wrap? This relaxing treatment begins with a steam before your body is wrapped in hot linens soaked in eucalyptus oil. While relaxing in the heat and aroma, your body will be healing; eliminating toxins while also stimulating circulation and soothing tired muscles.
Be sure to allocate time to the steam room, the outdoor grotto and the relaxation rooms. These are all available for you to use throughout your stay and are a must do! In late spring and summer, Ste. Anne’s has a an outdoor pool available for guests to use, complete with comfy lounge chairs. There are also wellness classes to enjoy, walking trails and even horse stables you can visit. All meals are included with your stay and the chef has produced a menu that is sure to indulge your taste buds. Be aware, wine is not offered on the menu but you are free to bring your own wine to the spa and have it opened without a corkage fee.
Ste. Anne’s Spa truly has something for everyone. And because we want you to enjoy this experience as much as we have, we are giving away one day spa experience to one of our Auburn Lane readers! Happy Mother’s Day!
