Hayley Wickenheiser is known for being the best female hockey player of all time. So it’s only logical she would be tapped as the spokesperson for the Puck Pass Challenge. As a girls hockey trainer/coach, I am so inspired by everything Hayley has accomplished. With the Olympics in full swing, Canadians, including my little U13’s are invited to join in the fun on social media.
We invited Hayley to tell us all about it.

Hayley, in her own words:
“The Canadian Tire Puck Pass Challenge brings to life the true spirit of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, which is to connect people through sport, and encourages Canadians from coast-to-coast to ‘pass the puck’ in support of Team Canada and share a video on social tagging @CanadianTire and #WeAllPlayForCanada until February 18. It is a great way for people to get active and to build excitement around the games and demonstrates the importance of sport and play. The athletes at these Olympics and Paralympics Games unfortunately won’t have fans cheering for them in the stands so this campaign is a fun way for Canadians to cheer loudly on social media and show their support. I think all athletes appreciate the support they receive during the Games whether it is in person or from afar and it truly does mean a lot to know you’ve worked so hard at your sport and you have an entire country supporting you.
They will hear us, so please participate and show us your best move in the Puck Pass Challenge!
The last two years of the pandemic have been really hard on everyone, but athletes are the most resilient people. We’re seeing how connecting virtually on social can add joy and entertainment to our lives. All Canadians – no matter your skillset or age — can participate and show their support for athletes in Beijing.”
