Getting a proper bra fitting is the first step in building your bra wardrobe. Now you have to select the bras that will set you on your new path of perfect fitting clothes and a secret boost of confidence and fun. The ladies of Linea Intima helped me build this simple list and I am sharing the bras I love in each category.
Of the 4 bras selected I own 3 and purchased all of them. I will invest in my bras because this is an investment in myself – not just from a cosmetic angle but also for back and breast health and a confidence boost.
1. Seamless Bra : A seamless bra is also commonly referred to as a T-Shirt bra. It is a bra that is designed to be invisible under your clothes, with no seams that might show through. They feature cups that are usually covered with a single piece of fabric that is free of seams or stitching, and these types of bras typically feature a molded cup for shaping and support. Seamless bras give a smooth and perfect look to your white t-shirts, clingy tops and under silly fabrics. They provide full coverage and are very comfortable to wear. My new favourite seamless bra is from Empriente, the Cassiopee.
2 Seamed Bra : Before molded cups, seamed cups were the only bra cup option. Seamed bras are made with 2 or more fabric pieces such as lace, silk and satin. The cups in seamed bras are designed to be extra supportive, provide great lift, and give the bustline a natural shape because the seams act like support beams. They also fit a wide variety of body types. Seamed bras maintain your shape under heavier clothing. The Empreinte Thalia bra is a classic silhouette made pretty.
3. Sexy Bra : I say this playfully but also as a woman there is something to be said for wearing a bra that makes you feel pretty and like a woman. Something no one knows you are wearing but you. While many of us will buy this bra for a partner you’re also buying it for yourself. Have fun and be supported by your pick. Pictured below the Charmel Floral Demi.
4. Sports Bra: A sports bra is a bra that provides support during physical exercise. Sturdier than typical bras, they minimize breast movement, alleviate discomfort, and reduce potential damage to chest ligaments. I get that these bras are comfortable but please don’t wear them with pretty blouses and dresses and think they look good. They don’t and I am sorry to be the only honest person to tell you this. I get the comfort part and we need them but don’t wear them with everything (rant over). I have tested and purchased multiple sports bras from more companies than I can count and my favourite sports bra is from Anita. It offers amazing support, has great technology, straps don’t dig into my shoulders and the highly functional fabric for quick moisture absorption and transportation. You can find the Anita Momentum Sports Bra here.
