OEB Breakfast Co has cracked into Ontario with their newest location, now open in Liberty Village. Known in Western Canada for their creative and delicious interpretations of breakfast favourites, Toronto is in for a treat with this new brunch favourite.
With locations dotting Alberta and BC, OEB Breakfast Co has ambitious plans on being your destination for brunch and beyond. We stopped by their new location on East Liberty Street for a tasting.
WHAT’S ON THE MENU AT OEB BREAKFAST CO
They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day and OEB obviously takes that to heart. Their slogan proudly emboldened on staff uniforms ‘Fill the Soul’, a nurturing warm and fuzzy display that echos this old saying. Their mission also includes a rather lofty goal of securing a Michelin star for their efforts, but you gotta admire that hustle.
According to Founder Mauro Martina, OEB is “delivering familiar classics balanced with unparalleled fare you simply won’t find anywhere.” You can expect the unexpected at OEB.
BEYOND JUST BENNY’S
Locally driven isn’t limited to the food menu either. Collective Arts and Oast House Brewery are on tap. Trius wines offer a local lean where Dom Perignon makes a splash. Basically, there’s competition for your coffee and tea. Caffè Umbria supplies the java, with free refills, naturally.
Pairing with pretty plates and omega-rich eggs, the bar program is smart and concise. The food menu, however, is lengthy and long. Savoury to sweet, there’s truly something for everyone. We feasted on the stunning Banana Cream Pie French Toast, a layered look on brioche with fresh berries. While it was over-the-top dessert-like, it works. A decadent effort indeed.
Next up, savoury plates like the Truffle Squash Benny puts eggs on parade. Chunks of tender squash replace peameal in this new take on the traditional. In addition to this truffle scented version, there are Korean Bulgogi and Holy Crab bennys which highlight the creativity in the kitchen.

OEB MIGRATES SOUTH
Sunny skies are clearly on the horizon for OEB Breakfast Co. Plans are in the works for opening in the US with locations popping up in Arizona and California. Clearly, there’s an appetite for elevated eggs and the OEB breakfast format. In short, brunch will be anything but basic when you’re at OEB.
