Our mobile devices have become an essential part of our lives. We depend on our phones, laptops and other technology on a daily basis. They are more than just for work and communication – we use them as cameras, entertainment and searching up information and news. We use them as health and fitness trackers and motivators. We even use them as a vehicle for payment on the go. They are computers in our pockets and in our workbags. We can’t leave home without them.

With mobile technology such a big part of our modern lives, today’s smartphones have evolved beyond the practical. The recent popularity of phone charm accessories (courtesy of Gigi Hadid, Kendal Jenner and Dua Lipa as reported earlier this year on thezoereport), paired with brands like Samsung joining forces with fashionable names like Maison Kitsuné and Thom Browne, highlight a growing appetite for mobile devices that are not only functional but fashionable. Personalizing them have become part of our self expression.

And when function and style merge, it’s even better. Take for example Samsung’s latest phones. Foldable? Yes, we saw them coming (back) but better than ever. It always made sense from a design perspective for someone like me who tosses my device into my handbag and fish around for it — and hoping it get chocolate crumbs or accidentally calls 911.

We were interested in learning more from a design perspective with the latest Samsung products, so we checked in with Tiffeny Chung, Head of Mobile Marketing at Samsung Electronics Canada!

What features have been incorporated into the new devices?

On the Galaxy Z Flip3 5G, we chose a diverse range of colours, including Phantom Black, Green, Lavender and Cream – so that consumers can choose the device that best reflects their personal style.
