We have at least another month of feeling the sun against our skin. Quite frankly September is my favourite month. The early mornings are fresh and the days heat up nicely without the humidity. Then, the nights cool down and is very comfortable. The air always feels sooo nice!
But we know what’s around the corner. We’re trying to hold on to summer for as long as we can. So, how can you keep that glow?
Recently, I was introduced to the Saltyface line of self-tanners, a line committed to using clean ingredients and sustainable packaging.
What ingredients are inside?
What water-like consistency and texture is specifically formulated for the face. Infused with botanical fruit, root extracts, aloe vera, and cucumber nourish the skin while gradually delivering that perfect sun-kissed glow.
How to apply:
The formula uses a dropper to better control the tanning water on the skin. Simply drop the liquid on to the skin and gently work all over the skin by blending with your fingers. Ensure that you’re covering all areas you’d like to “tan”. The skin will gradually get that summer glow after a few hours.
What skin type is good for this?
Saltyface is suitable for all skin types including sensitive and acne-prone skin. I have both and it worked well with no break outs. Also, doesn’t leave an orangey-fake tan look but rather a healthy glow.
You can add another layer the next day if you want a deeper tan. I found one application was perfect for a natural tan. I have super sensitive skin – while other self-tanners have made me break out, this one hasn’t. Phew!
How quickly does it fade?
I found it held the colour for almost a week without any additional effort. Perfect to get me through several events. My tan gradually faded as I often use face wipes on the go in the summer months. Also there was no residue on my regular bedsheets afterwards. But like any other face product, be sure to have it completely absorbed before heading off to bed.
Thoughts:
The water-like formula makes you forget you’re even wearing anything. I love the natural overall look and feel of Saltyface Tanning Water for the face! And I’m looking forward to keeping this glow well into September for events and travel. Hey, sitting in dark rooms all day and night at TIFF means limited chances of catching any sunlight!
This is by far the best self-tanner I’ve tried – it applies easily, colour looks natural, and is clean.
When it comes to self-tanners, the number question people ask is about the scent. While this product uses natural ingredients and is seriously loved by GOOP, it did have slight self-tanning smell a few hours after I had applied it onto my face. But I was happy that scent quickly went away after a couple of gentle washes with my favourite cleanser!
What else should you know?
This is a super product for the face to achieve that summer tanned look. The company also has a Tanning Foam for the body and even a Freckle Pencil.
If you want to achieve longer lasting tans, be sure to clean and exfoliate your skin PRIOR to applying the product. And moisturize like you would normally.
The Saltyface Tanning Water for the face also comes in two shades: Light to Medium and Medium to Dark. If you’re not sure what to select, they have examples on their site to help.
Where can you find them?
The company ships to Canada for free (over $40). See the site here for more details.
