Seedlip, as their clever motto goes, is ‘what to drink when you’re not drinking‘ a complex mix of aromatic herbs and natural flavours. The result? A heady base for any drink, and a perfect cure for exactly that predicament- when you want to have a drink, without having an actual drink.
Alcohol sales have steadily been dropping, and with the recent legalization of cannabis, you can expect this dip to continue. People are aware of the adverse effects of alcohol and opting for guilt-free libations of a new variety, and Seedlip is just that solution.

Crafted in the UK based on the complexities of distillation, Seedlip’s mission is to ensure there’s a posh sipper for every imbiber- whether that’s with alcohol or not. The days of cran + sodas are clearly numbered. Sophisticated palates want something with a backbone, the essence of any good drink is a bit of a bite, and overly sweet sugary pink things are pass√©.

As someone who formerly pulled pints for a living, I was tickled to get my hands on this stash and concoct something special. It’s easy enough to toss some Tonic Water at their zesty Grove 42 for a simple sipper, but playing on Seedlip’s legacy of recipes, it’s far more interesting to mix things up and bring some of Seedlip’s nuances to the forefront.

Move over mules. Gophers are cuter, and thus should have a cocktail named after them too. At least that’s my professional opinion….Using Spice 94 gives this drink some warmth and depth.

1.5oz Seedlip Spice 94
3 oz Fevertree Gingerbeer
Handful of fresh Gooseberries
Cinnamon Stick
Pomegranate Seeds

Crush gooseberries and scrape seeds out, set aside. Pour Seedlip Spice 94 over ice. Add gooseberry seeds and pomegranate seeds. Top with gingerbeer and a cinnamon stick to stir.

Aromatic and easy to crush, this take on a classic cocktail makes for a satisfying cinq à sept sipper.

1.5 oz Seedlip Grove 42
2 oz of Fevertree Tonic
Lemon zest
Sprig of Rosemary

Shake Seedlip Grove 42 over ice in a shaker. Drain and pour into a fancy glass. Add fresh lemon zest and pour Fevertree Tonic in to desired level. Garnish with a sprig of fresh rosemary.
