On trend, and somehow still trend setting, Palm Lane is a new restaurant concept brought you by Chase Hospitality Group. The carefully curated space, seemingly carved out of a corridor in Yorkville Village serves up healthy food really fast, either for takeaway, or table service. The palm vibe extends beyond just the name, walls are downright tropical, and seating is swathed in gold, it’s Mad Men mixed with Magnum PI, all brought to the 21st century. In other words, I’m pretty obsessed.

Supplying Yorkville shoppers and the stream of fitness enthusiasts at nearby Equinox (and soon, Soulcycle) with pre and post workout nourishment, Palm Lane’s menu is yes, of course, healthy, but boasts unexpected flavours and interesting combinations too.

Palm Lane-Indie Salad

Salads, bowls and smoothies are all on offer, and while you can customize with proteins and substitutions, with Chase backing the quick kitchen, leave the flavour profiles to the pros! The Indie salad ($13.75) is an instant hit. Lentils, chickpeas and a pakora-esque cauliflower patty prove irresistible, with coconut vinaigrette and chunks of sweet mango completing the sweet/spicy profile. It’s a salad, but satisfies like a main, and the crunchy to soft texture ratio was just bang on. It’s a winner.

Palm Lane-Thai Crunch

Crispy rice noodles are an addictive garnish on the Thai Crunch salad ($13.25). Protein rich tofu pairs perfectly with peanuts, fried scallions and a Thai chili vinaigrette. The Greek Goddess ($13.25) brings oregano to the forefront, backed up by a a smattering of greens- romaine, parsley and cucumbers, and of course the necessary feta, olive and even crispy pita too. Quinoa makes an appearance here too, a nice touch of protein, and a carefully thought-out balanced meal.

Bowls, with rice or noodle bases offer those looking for something a little extra. Smoothies come in four different flavours, like the lead photo of Liliko’i ($10) may seem steep, but with turmeric, coconut milk, agave and mango prove to be pretty meal worthy on their own.
Palm Lane is open 11:30am-7:30pm daily, check them out on the upper floor of Yorkville Village.
