We all will have to wear face masks for the next little while for work, shopping, running errands, visits to the museums, going for ice cream, and school. We’ve been mindful to not hoarding one-time use masks that should be saved for front-line workers but also know inevitably end up in wasteland. We’re also tired of seeing them toss aside on the streets. Who are these people who can’t even make it to the garbage can? Grrrrr. Reusable masks are not only a more affordable and practical option, in the long run, they will also be better for the environment.
As we’ve been learning, not one size fits all. There are companies creating masks for kids that are better fitting and more comfortable — which means they may just stay on longer. Check individual sites for measurements. Here are companies (from small biz to well-known brands) that our team of moms have come across who are making great quality masks for kids…
Crayola Face Masks For Kids:Â This clever five pack is perfect for every school day of the week. Each pack comes with five reusable and machine washable cloth face masks — with adjustable ear loops! The variety of bright colours so your child can have a fresh one each and every day. Each pack also comes with a mesh laundry bag and a calendar to keep track of mask use and washes. Also, let’s be honest, with five masks that means we don’t have to panic if forget to wash one on time. Just grab the next one and go!
EasyMondays: ( buy 3 get 1 free). The menswear clothing brand decided to pivot their business by offering comfortable and well-made masks not just for adults but also for kids. Kids masks have both options of  full-face or pleated design with elastic ear loops. Made with fine Italian cotton cloths. On trend also with tie-dye print options this season. With each mask purchased, a non-medical grade mask is donated to an organization in need including the Yonge Street Mission.
PEACE COLLECTIVE: This popular Canadian urban design brand makes soft and comfortable face masks for the entire family. Â Masks are made with 100% cotton fabric. Multi-layers add additional protection in these non-medical grade coverings. Designed to fit comfortably over the nose and under the chin. Machine washable. Sold in packs of 2, 3, 6 or 12. Minimal design and comes in colours black and maroon. Also, for every mask sold, the company will donate one to a front line worker.
