Orangetheory Live has been my secret sauce since signing up this past January. As a seasoned fitness enthusiast I was left out in the cold- almost a year into the lockdown that had engulfed my province, country and most of the world, it was clear that my gym membership wouldn’t be useful for the foreseeable future. With motivation waning, it was time to shift gears and set myself up for some splat-soaked success!

Now a couple of months into this new routine and I’ve come to rely on it, looking forward to every single workout. Coaches are reliable, cheerful and feel more like friends after every sweat session. While half of my reason for working out is still fitting into my fave overalls, it’s more about staying strong. Mentally and physically. Connecting with the coaches on a first name basis, having a brief break from the monotony of lockdown life is a steady reminder that real people outside my bubble still exist.

With cities across Canada in various states of COVID shutdowns, it’s a great relief to know you can always dial-in to torch some calories, with other fitness fans checking in from all over the country. My Orangetheory Live class comes courtesy Orangetheory Danforth, but my fellow participants are logging in from Manitoba, parts of Ottawa and all over southern Ontario. It’s an unexpected, “Hey, how is it in your part of the world“, supplementing that odd I-miss-talking-to-strangers box. Check!
If you haven’t checked out a virtual class yet, this Saturday is Siblings Day at Orangetheory, so if your sister is a member you can join in the fun and see how many splat points you can snag!
