As the winter winds begin to whistle through the streets of Toronto, there’s a magical transformation taking place at the iconic Casa Loma. Known for its grandeur and historical significance, this majestic castle turns into a winter wonderland during the holiday season. Inviting visitors to immerse themselves in the festive spirit, they offer two enchanting experiences: Christmas at the Castle and Holiday Light Tours.

Christmas at the Castle: A Regal Casa Loma Celebration

Casa Loma, with its medieval-inspired architecture and sprawling estate, provides an idyllic backdrop for a regal Christmas celebration. The Christmas at the Castle event transports visitors into a world of yuletide joy, combining the castle’s historic charm with festive decorations that adorn every corner.

Christmas at the Castle and Holiday Lights Tour experiences kicks off December 1st and runs until January 6th. This includes Christmas Eve and Boxing Day, although The Experience is closed on Christmas Day. This year’s events include both an indoor, daytime offering of family activities, as well as an evening experience. The evening brings a dazzling lighting display and outdoor adventure through the historic gardens, walkways, and tunnels of the castle.

Deck the Great Hall With Boughs of Holly

Guests will marvel in the magic at the castle, resplendent with stunning holiday décor. As well as a 25 ft tree in the Great Hall, there are eight signature trees created by talented Canadian designers. Destination “design” trees are scattered throughout the castle.

Both young and old will thrill at live theatrical performances including Knight Before Christmas performances. Swordplay and archery, the Canadian Majinx illusion show, a live aerialist soaring through the Great Hall ceiling. See roaming mime artists and mascots, a wandering magician and more. As always, children are invited to visit Santa Claus, Mrs. Santa, and the elves in their castle workshop. They will enjoy penning letters to the North Pole for their holiday wishes.

Christmas at the Castle runs from 9:30am – 4pm (last admission) performances run between 11-3. Tickets are $45.

The lightness of being…  with Casa Loma Holiday Lights

Visitors may experience the wonderment of winter in its glory, while wandering outdoors through a dazzling lighting display. Explore the gardens and inside in the famous underground tunnels, adorned for the holidays. Designed as a self-guided walk, guests stroll through the property’s grounds at their own pace. Enjoy the decorations, lights and live performances. Family faves are the trio of Christmas carolers, and, of course, Santa and his entourage.

Visitors embark on a guided tour through the castle’s exterior, where every turret, archway, and window is adorned with twinkling lights. The gardens come alive with illuminated pathways, creating a magical journey that showcases the beauty of Casa Loma against the winter night sky.

Holiday Lights runs from 5pm – 10pm (last admission). Dec 1st to 17th are $45 online or $50 on site and that goes up to $50 online and $55 on site from Dectember 18th to January 6th.

On the other hand, you can also go for the Holiday Lights VIP Experience for two. This will include admission, allowing you to skip the line and two food and beverage vouchers for you and your guest. From December 1st to the 17th, it will cost you $125. From December 18th to January 6th, the price is $150.

The venue is also hosting a toy drop-off for the CP24 CHUM Christmas Wish and guests are encouraged to bring a wrapped gift to donate. As well, $1 from all admissions will also go towards the foundation.
