During Breast Cancer Awareness Month, an exciting collaboration has been unveiled in support of the CIBC Breast Centre at St. Michael’s Hospital. DASHA, and The Soy Luck Club, a visionary culinary venture, are joining forces. On the evening of Tuesday, October 24th, a heartwarming demonstration of community support will unfold.

DASHA’s Executive Chef, Hans Vogels, and The Soy Luck Club’s Founder and Chef Eva Chin will unite their culinary skills. Their shared commitment to giving back drives this collaboration, which is aimed at making a difference in the ongoing fight against breast cancer.

As one of Toronto’s premier Neo-Chinese dining destinations, The Soy Luck Club takes traditional dishes in exciting directions with its flavorful Chinese banquet-style menu, enriched with Chef Eva’s childhood influences.

Chef Hans expresses his excitement, saying, “We are thrilled and deeply honoured to collaborate with Chef Eva and The Soy Luck Club for this meaningful initiative. Cancer touches us all at some point in our lives, be it through a personal diagnosis, a colleague, a friend, or a family member. In my case, I lost my mom just a few months ago. This month holds particular significance for me. Fueled by this added motivation, I wanted to do something special and reached out to my friend Eva.”

The CIBC Breast Centre at St. Michael’s Hospital, a leader in breast cancer screening and research continues to innovate in providing patient-centred care. Dr. Ralph George from the CIBC Breast Centre, explains their approach, “We wanted to put the whole package together, in one location, for the convenience of our patients and their families. You can get a biopsy, you can be seen by a physician, and you can get cancer looked after. That’s so much better than being shuffled from place to place, and back and forth.”

The funds raised will contribute to the purchase of a new mammography machine. This will help enhance detection for everyone being treated at the CIBC Breast Centre.
