Our pets are very much part of our family and yes, they will also get a little something from Santa Paws under the tree this year and in their stockings. Here are some favourite items our team has sourced this year. We can’t wait for Christmas morning!
Noize Original: This vegan line based out of Montreal introduced a line of dog coats this fall. Well thought out details in the design include easy put on and take off, harness opening option, pockets for bags and treats, cuffs to minimize wind. Also, we love how we can even match with human styles. (Use Promocode: HARLEYFW15 for some savings)
PuppyPrezzies.com: This Toronto-based designer line of streetwear for pets is much loved for its pop culture and lux inspired references. It’s a clothing line with swagger that will ensure you will “sleigh” your holidays season. Pawvinchy anyone? Also, customization available on some items – think in the style of Supreme –> Pupreme –> your dog’s name. That’s just one of our favourites. (Use promocode: HARLEY15 for some savings)
We also love PuppyPrezzies for their newly launched organic, small-batch made Paw Balm for dogs (who won’t wear booties) to help keep their paws from drying out and cracking in the winter months.
PetSmart Canada: Lovers of the iconic Canadian brand Beaver Canoe will love the line of jackets, hoodies, vests and pyjamas for pups. Sizes range from x-small to bigger doggos.
If you’re looking for Ugly Sweaters for the season, PetSmart Canada always has a great selection too – for all sorts of family pets, including guinea pigs and reptiles.
In the toy department at Petsmart Canada we love their line of OMG Toys! that have a “toy within a toy” that’s great for pets who are super curious. They’re designed to be destroyed at affordable prices. (Santa as shown below as an example).
But if you’ve got a cuddler that can’t fathom the idea of destroying precious plushies then take a look at their Merry & Bright line of toys. (Penguin shown below as an example).
We can’t forget about the cats, right? Lots of cute holiday toys from PetSmart Canada.
Barkerson’s Bag of Barks: A new monthly subscription has recently launched for dogs. This Canadian company knows what dogs love and have created a box full of high quality ingredient treats and toys. Treats are made in the Tom and Sawyer’s Kitchen located in Toronto.
PetSafe Canada: We highly recommend the Play & Challenge toys from this International brand that offers full durable and long-lasting items that keep your pup engaged and stimulated. As winter arrives and more time is spent indoors we welcome the toys that keep them busy and happy. This Busy Buddy Squirrel Dude is a perfect treat-dispensing toy for snowy day fun.
If you have space, try out this Automatic Ball Launcher also from PetSafe Canada that we adore. Many dogs figure out how to retrieve the ball and return it to the launcher to amuse themselves. The launcher has 9 distance settings and 6 angle settings Suitable for indoor and outdoor play.
Chelsea and Me: is a local Toronto-based Etsy seller that has a great selection of matching hoodies and tees for dogs and their owners. Your breed vs Everybody is a favourite. But this ‘needs coffee’ one is calling out for us. Customization on some styles also available.
Canada Pooch: For those sloppy days when snow slightly gets mush and wet we love this Slush Suit that offers full body protection where you need it. Adjustable neck. Water-resistant. Size zipper for easy wear.
RedsDoggo: For dogs (and cats) who are so fetching that all they need is a little bow or bandana, we turn to this local Canadian brand (Etsy) for the quality of fabrics, craft, and quick turn around of service. Matching face masks and scrunchies also available.
Ontario SPCA Paws & Gifts:Your dog has everything they want or need? Then, consider a donation to this organization. A Dog Holiday Care Package or a Cat Holiday Care Package will provide extra soft bedding, a few new toys and help out with any veterinary care needed over the holiday season for the furry rescue friends.
Toronto Humane Society: There are many ways to give back and support the animals at the shelter. Visit their Holiday Market for gifts that give back. You can also grab a bag of coffee (for human consumption obvs) with All For One Support. 75% of the proceeds go towards funding the animal care services.
