Wahlburgers has quietly closed after almost a decade in downtown Toronto. Known for its meaty burger recipes, tender tots and full-service bar, this burger joint brought Wahlberg brothers Paul, Mark, Donnie and of course Mom Alma to both television and restaurant infamy.
While the show ended back in 2019, the burger-brothers held tight to the Toronto location, through the difficult Covid closures and disruptions.
WAHLBURGERS CALLS IT QUITS IN TORONTO
Years ago, Sonya and I were invited down to join the throngs of gawkers and groupies at this grand opening. You can still catch us- and Mark- in our full glory by watching the entire episode on A&E. Paul, the chef and culinary leader was almost as swoon-worthy as the beefcake himself, Mark. It was a moment in Toronto’s whirlwind food scene, immortalized for the small screen.
The menu was inspired, with regular specials like Turkey Thanksgiving burgers and flourishes like fresh lobster. Burgers were bedazzled, fries were crispy, and milkshakes were frothy. A full bar complemented the social sports bar vibe. Kitty corner is where the Jays play, this was a prime perch for pre-gaming. Located inside the swanky SoHo Hotel, Wahlburgers was a hit with tourists, too.
IT’S NOT GOODBYE WAHLBURGERS, IT’S SEE YOU SOON
Wahlburgers remains open throughout the US and even Australia and New Zealand. The YYZ location in terminal one also remains open. Find a location for your next craving https://wahlburgers.com/all-locations
