The RBC Red Carpet Gallery is one of the most coveted spots along the red carpet. Avion Rewards members will have access to an exclusive viewing experience of the world’s biggest stars arriving at their Gala premieres on the Roy Thomson Hall red carpet. The activation will feature interactive elements, including a unique photo booth experience and trivia games with exciting rewards, to enhance the visit.
Visa Infinite cardholders can access the new Visa Infinite Studio — a beautifully reimagined space across the street from the Visa Screening Room at the Princess of Wales Theatre. The space will feature elevated décor, live music, a portrait studio, and complimentary drinks and snacks. Cardholders can step into a space that celebrates 50 editions of TIFF and Visa’s long-standing sponsorship. In addition, Visa’s existing lounges at the Visa Screening Room and at Roy Thomson Hall will be available to Visa Infinite cardholders attending screenings at these venues to enjoy complimentary drinks and popcorn.
Campari Red Carpet Lounge on the Gala Red Carpet — There will be a fully outfitted and immersive bar on the Roy Thomson Hall red carpet, which will host filmmakers and talent before their World Premieres. Fans are invited to witness the pre-screening toasts and conversations live in the South Fan Zone on the red carpet at the Roy Thomson Hall.
House of Peroni 2025 by Peroni Nastro Azzurro — Experience the best of Italian hospitality as they return with the popular House of Peroni Nastro Azzurro located at David Pecaut Square. Guests are invited to escape to Italy while enjoying an exclusive menu curated by international celebrity chef David Rocco. The first few days always prove to be a fun and exciting time with opportunities at the very popular pedestrian-friendly TIFF Festival Street! Now in its 10th year! From September 4 to 7, alongside activations, there are a few other surprises, and yes, while you’re walking from point A to B, keep your eyes out for the celebrities. I spotted several during the daytime just by wandering!
During TIFF Festival Street, look out for a 60-foot sushi bar pop-up that will serve free omakase, prepared by over a dozen chefs from Yorkville’s MSSM, offering passersby a taste of 2-Michelin Star Chef Masaki Saito’s groundbreaking culinary artistry and to celebrate the documentary film “Still Single”. Open September 5, 5–6:30 pm, at King and John Streets.
Lavazza Festival Village Experience — Step into the custom photo booth and enhance the moment by making a photo card through the Lavazza mailbox. You never know who might just be walking by and photo bombing you! Visitors might also receive a Lavazza cold brew or a Qualita Oro ground coffee and other giveaways.
NEW this year is the return of some of the TIFF excitement to Yorkville. The Rogers TIFF 50 Timescape in Yorkville –this free and open to the public interactive installation and event will celebrate the Festival’s remarkable milestone and iconic cultural history during the opening weekend. from September 5 to 7, walk through TIFF’s past and explore the evolution of the Festival through interactive multimedia content, archival images and entertainment.
Each day, the Casa Loma Symphony Orchestra (from the Liberty Group) will play scores from notable films that screened at TIFF over the past 50 years. And as part of the experience, Rogers is giving away 50 pairs of TIFF tickets throughout the weekend. Follow @Rogers on Instagram for more details.

The Ritz-Carlton, Toronto: 181 Wellington Street, across from Roy Thomson Hall
Why? Its proximity to the TIFF hub means no fighting Toronto traffic to get to the Red Carpets in the area. Plus, LANO is a casual yet elegant café off to the lobby, ideal for handcrafted brews and fresh baked goods. TOCA is their signature restaurant up a flight of stairs that also offers more discreet fine Italian dining. EPOCH is another great discreet spot with an outdoor patio for bites and drinks.

Four Seasons Toronto Hotel: 60 Yorkville Avenue
Why? It’s consistently a preferred luxury hotel for the well-heeled crowd. Concierge will do everything in its power to ensure stays, famous or not, are unforgettable. Michelin-star chef Daniel Boulud’s restaurant is there. The d|bar is a popular spot for late-night libations and popular DJs. The Spa and Pool areas are perfect to get away from paparazzi, too.
Shangri-La Toronto: 188 University Avenue
Why? Because many film houses are known to have their press junkets and meetings here. Some take up several floors to accommodate the numerous talents in town for TIFF. Also, major parties are held here with the who’s who in the film industry and the city. The Miraj Hammam Spa is an oasis in itself. Mott 32 will no doubt be a hot spot for fine Chinese dining. Lobby Bar has a great TIFF50 Afternoon Tea — so you can hang around and feel like you’re part of all the excitement.

Bisha Hotel: 80 Blue Jays Way
Why? Because it’s once again home to Deadline Studios, where A-listers will be whisked in for interviews. The hotel will be buzzing with activity in all areas, and also for parties. KOST is the ideal space for a bit of September warmth on their terrace. Akira Back is a sultry and sophisticated restaurant with elevated Japanese and Korean dishes. Mister C is the bar located off the main lobby, ideal for schmoozy parties.
St. Regis Hotel Toronto: 325 Bay Street
Why? Because feeling regal and extraordinary is what it’s like here. St. Regis impresses with much-buzzed-about offerings all year round, but TIFF brings out the celebrity status for everyone. Studio 50 is this year’s TIFF celebration featuring a stunning candid photo exhibit by celebrity photographer Ryan Emberley, not to be missed. Louix Louis on the 31st floor will surely be a magnet with its outdoor terrace on a beautiful September night. Visit the Astor Lounge also for their TIFF-themed Afternoon Tea.
Fairmont Royal York Hotel: 100 Front Street West
Why? For decades, this iconic hotel has been a sanctuary for celebrities and notables. With its timeless grandeur and history, it will always be amongst the most dazzling in the city. Despite this never-ending flurry of activity, it may seem like it’s the unlikeliest of places to spot a celebrity who may be seeking shelter from prying cameras. But we think it’s that reason that makes it one of the most under-the-radar spots on our radar for TIFF. Also, their ballrooms are poised for large events including the TIFF Tribute Awards Ceremony. Guaranteed celeb spotting that night!
Make plans to enjoy a drink at The Library Bar – enjoy Take the Cannoli, a bold, elevated riff on the Godfather cocktail made with Redbreast 12 Single Pot Still Irish Whisky, Albicocca Liqueur (A smoked blend of Apricot Liqueur and Disaronno Amaretto that has been washed with vanilla yogurt) and Angostura Bitters. The speciality cocktail is served with venison tartare, juniper, saskatoon berry, smoked maple pecans, and cannoli shell in homage to the film’s most iconic line.
Nobu Toronto Hotel: 33 Mercer Street
Why? Because it’s a familiar name for the global jet-set, and its location is slightly more discreet and near the hub of TIFF activity. The restaurant will draw those who are big fans, but we’ve also got our eye on THE CURE (next to Nobu Hotel), a health and wellness person’s dreamy spot for delicious and casual food and smoothies. Also, keep an eye on RCVRI located across the street, which is already pegged as a destination for celebrities looking for a place to retreat and benefit from science-backed wellness (think cold plunge, PEMF, compression therapy, saunas, jacuzzi) but might not necessarily have the time to linger for hours.
Sutton Place Hotel: 355 King Street West
Why? This iconic hotel reopened on King West, and it’s been a hotspot for visitors to TIFF due to its close proximity to the major theatres. Right in the heart of the Entertainment District makes this an ideal spot, and its restaurant, Abrielle, is poised for great celebrity dinners (hint: go past the bar and find another dining area).
ACE Hotel: 51 Camden Street
Why? This global brand is known to appeal to the artist crowd. It’s young, vibrant, and inspires meaningful conversations. The industrial feel and design were inspired by the heritage of the fashion manufacturing district that the area was once known for. Alder restaurant on the lower level makes for a great escape. Evangeline is the rooftop lounge bar with a terrace that you’ll want to stay a while longer. We also love the Waterworks Food Hall across the street – check out Civil Works Cocktail Bar on the Mezzanine. Definitely grab some Turkish Delight at Liu Loquem Atelier.

The Hazelton Hotel Toronto: 118 Yorkville Avenue
Why? For people who prefer a boutique hotel feel but with luxurious attention, the Hazelton Hotel is the go-to. Warm, discreet and attentive, this hotel offers a very welcoming vibe. Steps from the best shopping and restaurants make this an ideal location. One Restaurant on site is arguably the best place in the city to people-watch.
St. Germain Hotel: 30 Mercer Street
Why? This one tends to go under the radar for its location, but it stands the test of time as a hidden gem in the city. Again, its close proximity to the Red Carpet action makes this a very appealing location.
BEST RESTAURANTS for TIFF Celebrity Spotting:
Aside from the hotel restaurants mentioned above (seriously), there is no shortage of more restaurants to celebrity spot, here are just a few (psst…some are hosting talent and industry for pre-screening receptions and post screening parties – sorry, no you won’t be allowed inside access unless invited but you can certainly hang out in front to catch a glance or maybe an autograph.
Masaki Saito: 88 Avenue Road
Sushi isn’t just a dinner; it’s an art form, and Executive Masaki Saito is passionate about telling the stories behind each and every piece of nigiri or sashimi he sources and slices. He’s also got a documentary film made about him that is in TIFF 50. “Still Single” – an eye-opening watch about the man behind the sushi knife.
Daphne: 67 Richmond Street West
A breakout star of TIFF 2024, Daphne played host to Vanity Fair’s cover launch with Demi Moore, as well as dinners with Angelina Jolie and Salma Hayek. A little bird told us that several high-profile red-carpet events are expected to take place here.
BESO by Patria: 478 King Street West
Beso is bold, colourful, and unapologetically Spanish. With dramatic custom artwork and interiors that radiate energy, Beso brings a kiss of Spain to Toronto. Chef Stuart Cameron’s menu—tapas, paella, fresh seafood, and grilled meats—paired with inventive cocktails, makes it an instant A-list draw. Past celebrity sightings include Pharrell Williams and Andrew Garfield.
Cassius on King: 624 King Street West
We’re anticipating this to be the latest hotspot for food lovers who love to be in the know. The dining room turns into a dance floor later in the evening. Expect delicious Italian fare. DJs keep the place hopping all night long.
Primadonna: 600 King Street West, 4th Floor
A new kitschy, stylish nod to Italian mobster legends and glamorous mob wives, Primadonna delivers hearty Italian-American comfort food in a room filled with vintage art, plush banquettes, and a bold mural made for Instagram. A lively, high-energy space where celebrities can blend in—or make a scene. Celebrities already sighted here recently: Jessica Chastain, Lucy Liu, Oprah
PAI Northern Thai Kitchen: 18 Duncan Street
The celebrities, or maybe the hotel concierge, know where to get authentic and delicious Thai food. That is why Chef Nuit Regular’s PAI continues to be the go-to for celebrities visiting our city. The delicious house-made Khao Soi and the comfort dish, Pad Gra Prow, make this relaxed atmosphere keep everyone returning. Just peep their IG and you’ll see who’s been there!
Soluna: 314 Queen Street West
This tucked-away restaurant and lounge was already a hotspot for private TIFF film events in 2024. It’s away from the paparazzi eye, making it a place where celebrities can go and chill pre and post red carpet screenings. Its tropical vibe makes it feel like you’re in Miami rather than Toronto. CELEBRITY SPOTTING PRO TIPS:
Be respectful of the talent’s space. If they are having a private moment at a restaurant, don’t go snapping photos of them eating. Yes, they are actors and filmmakers, but they too need a break too.
If you’re waiting patiently outside and celebrities are heading in and out of a venue, restaurant or hotel, then it’s fair to ask for a selfie or autograph. But be mindful of others waiting too. Often, the celebrity will have less than 30 seconds to get shuffled to their next appearance. If you’re lucky (and this happens often), celebrities are happy to linger for a few more minutes to meet with fans.
Bring a friend and agree to take each other’s photos too! Just in case the celebrity comes and chats with may just want to capture that candid moment!
Bring something to autograph and a Sharpie – be original because that will often catch their attention. I once had Mark Wahlberg sign my iPhone case.
