Light, airy, dreamy and effortlessly nourishing, wellness coffee is the kind of ritual that feels indulgent while still supporting how you want to feel. Unlike sugary café creations, this at-home creation is built around clean ingredients, gentle energy, and hydration — think espresso whipped into a soft foam with plant-based milk and layered over coconut water for a refreshing twist. It’s coffee reimagined as a mindful moment and simple enough to make part of your everyday wellness routine.
What makes the dreamy? It’s all about the light and airy whip that is easy enough to do at home. It gently rests over your beverage to enjoy.
Dreamy Wellness Coffee (Cold)
Ingredients
- 1 shot espresso or strong cold-brew coffee (organic roasts are ideal)
- ¼ cup unsweetened oat milk or almond milk
- ½ cup coconut water (electrolytes + hydration)
- Ice
- Natural sweetener (optional):
- 1 tsp raw honey or maple syrup
- Optional functional add-ins (choose one, and flavourless)
- 1 tsp collagen peptides
- ¼ tsp ashwagandha (calming, adaptogenic)
- ¼ tsp maca (gentle energy support)
- ⅛ tsp cinnamon (blood sugar support)
Instructions
Prepare your base: filling a glass with ice and pour in coconut water. Set aside.
Create the froth: In a tall container, combine espresso, milk, sweetener (if using), and any functional add-in.
Use a milk frother. My preference is the De’Longhi Lattemix Cold and Hot Frother to whip milk until light. This frother takes the guess work out of making delicious barista style whipped up foam. Pour in the combined ingredients no more than the froth line. Select the cold froth button (suitable for plant based and regular milk) and let it run until it automatically turns off. Even my friend who comes over for coffee often mentioned how “professional” my cappuccinos turn out!
Assemble: Gently spoon the frothy coffee whip over the coconut water and ice. Sprinkle with a bit of cinnamon if you like! Enjoy!

Wellness Dream Coffee Variations:
Anti-Inflammatory Dream Coffee
- Add ¼ tsp turmeric + pinch of black pepper
- Best with oat milk

- Use half-caffeine espresso or matcha instead of coffee
Gut-Friendly Option
- Add collagen + cinnamon
- Use almond milk and skip sweetener
Pro Wellness Coffee Tips:
- Barista-style oat milk froths best without additives
- Keep adaptogens minimal — more isn’t better
- This is ideal as a mid-morning, mid afternoon or pre-workout drink
- Feel free to adjust the flavour to your liking

Tips for Frothing Like a Barista
- Milk matters: Whole milk and barista-style oat milk tend to produce more stable, creamier and loftier foam that holds. But I’ve been using lactose free 1 % dairy milk (works great still) and occasionally regular oat milk (not as pillowy)
- Temperature: Warm milk froths are better for lattes/cappuccinos; cold froth, of course, is best for cold foam drinks
- Mix it up: Syrups, spices (like cinnamon, nutmeg, turmeric), or flavored extracts elevate your creations. Just watch your sugar intake
