Don’t let the sub-zero temps hold you back, New Years Eve is going to be huge this year. 2020 sounds so futuristic, and the end of a (shitty) era deserves to be ushered out with determined approach to luxury and pampering. Mark the year, the occasion and the very people you’ve chosen to celebrate with with a venue that shares that “lets go out with a bang” sentiment.
With that, our best places in Toronto to toast for 2020.
Perched upon the 54th floor of the TD Tower, Chefs John Horne and Ron McKinlay have an epic menu planned to go along with that epic view. A five course meal putting Canadian cuisine in the spotlight is the restaurant’s singular focus, with proudly patriotic plates like haida gwaii scallop with Tamworth lardo, or screeched tarte au sucre with brown butter milk sauce. From $165 not including wine pairings.
Ring in a ‘rambunctious’ New Year at this new King West destination. Lapinou’s space lends itself to a convivial nod, so if you’re with a group or looking to mingle, Lapinou sets the tone for the evening. With two seating options with four courses to choose, and a very easy to swallow $45 to add wine pairings, Lapinou proves the French know a thing or two about revelry. Live music kicks off at 8pm by Little Rambunctious, a local brass ensemble. First 5pm seating is $95, and second seating kicks off at 8pm for $125.
AkACHAN bar, housed just inside Chotto Matte will disrupt the social scene in Toronto’s typical NYE lineup with a dystopian Tokyo dress up party. Toronto’s own DJ Bambii will be working the decks, with unique Nikkei cocktails, bottomless Prosecco and canapés will be served throughout the evening. Tickets go for $75 for the party at 10pm or set menu at 6pm or 9:15pm for $95.
