Distillery District’s Christmas Market is back, kicking off on November 14th. The weekends will be busy, and come at an extra admission price, so perhaps opt in for a midweek date night to soak up the all the lights and loveliness.
#FNLROM continues throughout November. Each Friday night the museum is converted into a destination for more than just dinosaurs, with full DJ and live music performances providing a unique venue for one of Toronto’s favourite dance parties.

Pho OK is now open at the corner of Yonge and Florence in North York. Word on the street is that it’s better than OK, so mark this one down for a winter warm up.
Babel at Yonge and York Mills is the latest Toronto project for O&B, who are expanding into Saskatchewan in a Risk-style invasion/domination across Canada. Babel is now occupying the space that was once a Movenpick, this time, no passport will be required for the Middle Eastern eatery, which formally opened its doors today.
by CHLOE.‘s 16th location has opened in Yorkdale Shopping Centre. The plant based eatery is massive in the US, with an almost cult-like following for the chain that only began in 2015. A second location is already in the works for the Financial District right downtown.
History is made with Hy’s opening on Bay Street, right by Richmond. The gleaming 18,000 sq ft space is a jewel in the crown for the Canadian treasure, and will sure to be the hotspot for many holiday parties and New Years celebrations.
DASHA, a new concept by Chef Akira Back is now open on King West. His self-titled affair at The Bisha Hotel has been a fave haunt of ours, and now DASHA also promises to bring the raccous, with a karaoke bar part of the experience! Dōmo arigatō, Mr. Roboto!
Neo Coffee Bar will be opening their second location at College and Bay on November 8th. The Japanese inspired bakery and cafe is matcha heaven, and a destination for organic baked goods and imported Japanese coffees.
Manulife Centre will see throngs of people coming in for the grand opening of Eataly on November 13th. If you’re one of the first 100 people in line, you’ll get a gift too!
The secret was probably the worst kept in years, but the second location of Piano Piano is opening on Mount Pleasant. The giant pink mural blanketing the building was a sure sign, we’re excited to have this kid friendly concept welcome a sibling.
Pōpa is ready to launch in Bayview Village. The Burmese restaurant will bring Trevor Lui’s skilled hands and Hemant Bhagwani’s extensive travels to the forefront, a marriage of two of Toronto’s spiciest Chefs, with Indian-style soups and flatbreads paired perfectly with Chinese-style noodles and stir-frys.
The long awaited east end project from Janet Zuccarini is inching closer to opening. Gusto 501, the long lost sibling to Portland’s first darling is now open. Gusto 501 will feature similar nods to its big sis, the same rustic Italian food paired with exceptional wines that put Janet’s restaurant empire on a global stage.
Cactus Club Cafe is officially coming north. The newest location of the eponymous brand is setting up shop at the recently renovated Sheppard Centre at Yonge and Sheppard.
Good things come in pairs, earrings, shoes and Cafe Landwers. Two locations of the popular resto-cafe are coming, one to the former Baton Rouge on Yonge Street, north of Sheppard, and a second, on Avenue Road, north of Lawrence.

Buca is inching closer to completion for their St. Clair and Yonge property. If there’s anything better than more Buca, I don’t want to know. We’ll be watching for this one!

Harry’s Charbroiled has closed. Chef Grant van Gameren says an impending renovation and other infrastructure spends have forced the closure.
