Fashion disrupter Hilary MacMillan gets us all excited for Spring with her latest collection of women’s wear at her most recent showing at Toronto Fashion Week. We’re pleased to learn that her designs are not only beautifully made and environmentally friendly but also vegan. Wait, not only that, this Canadian designer has no qualms about proving that fashion is, and should be, for everyone. Recently MacMillan announced the expansion of her size range and included models to show the depth of her expertise.

Famed for her range of feminist-themed varsity jackets – which have been available up to 4X for the past year – the designer is heeding the demand for extended sizing in her seasonal offerings by offering select pieces of her SS20 collection up to 4X and dress size 28. The designer announced in late July that they would be extending their dress sizes to 22, but due to multiple requests, will now be moving the size range to 28. You can view the current collection here.

While many international fashion brands are slowly working their way into the plus market, it is riskier and costly for smaller, independent fashion brands to develop a wider size range, but Hilary MacMillan is confident with her in-depth market research and customer base the expansion of her sizes will be a huge hit with stylish women across North American and beyond.

The spring collection featured crisp blue tones against whites and champagne shades. Detailing on pencil skirts played with edgy looks that are equally beautiful for the office or night out. LOVE is an understatement and we want it all now!

“The inspiration for this season all started with a colour: cerulean,” explains Creative Director and Founder Hilary MacMillan, “In Latin “cerulean” means sky or heavens and we used this as the jumping-off point for the collection, keeping the colour palette very fresh and light, then adding quilted vegan leathers, woven tweeds, soft whites, and muted golds to give a heavenly feeling to our Spring 2020 collection.”
