Mark your calendars! The third annual Global Energy Race by Dempster’s is on your doorstep! September 23rd will see scores of runners tackle the 3K and 10K timed routes, with stunning views of Woodbine beach acting as the perfect setting in downtown Toronto.
This family friendly race supports Dempster’s initiative to combat hunger, with two slices of bread being donated per KM to North York Harvest Foodbank. So dust off those sneakers and support a local and worthwhile charity all while burning up some excess energy. The festival-like atmosphere both pre and post finish line make this event a popular Toronto running event. Last year’s race was filled with live entertainment, games for the kiddies and lots of food both before and after the race and Dempster’s swag bags for all, and this year’s event will no doubt be even better! T-shirts and medals are part of the program too, and dogs and strollers are welcome on the 3K route too. The 10K route is for those going for gold, with winners from both male and female categories up for an all-expenses paid trip for them and a guest to Madrid for the 2019 race.
