Pride is here- the city’s most colourful 24 days to celebrate- and after the downright difficult year our dear village gaybourhood has seen, it’s cause to embrace our amazing gay culture, each other, be proud of who we are, and look forward to a future of more inclusiveness, more love, and more equality. Our very first ever Pride Guide is here, positively vibrating with jubilant events and soirees that you ought not to miss.
Pride at The ROM
Dance parties are absolutely de rigueur and the unique experience that is cultivated at #FNLROM is a sight to see! Friday, June 15 will bring queer art, expression, music, dancing, food, and performance – with Resident DJ at Cherry Bomb DJ Cozmic Cat, DJ Chippy Nonstop, DJ Craig Dominic, Deko-ze, with special performances by Vitality Black, Fay Slift, fashion expert Miss Moco, and some French flair courtesy Jezebel Bardot.
High5 PRIDE Market
Come for the live music and drag show, stay for the 25+ edibles vendors and Rainbow CBD Infused Snow Cones. June 17th will see Green Market buds The High 5 for an evening like no other, with a top secret location revealed just prior. This month special guests Drag Queen Lucy Flawless will be the hostess with the mostess, along with funny man comedian Paul Thompson.
Pride officially began back in the 70’s on our delightful Toronto Islands, so it only makes nostalgic sense to head back and pay tribute to where it all began. Starting at 1pm, this daytime session will see party goers soak up the sun, and maybe some Sauza too, courtesy the tequila brand who is the party’s sponsor. Pack a bathing suit, you will get wet on this ride!
The official after party for Dyke Day + the march, June 23rd at Mod Club will see DJ Cozmic Cat spring back into action on the turntables for their Love is Electric party, a guaranteed good time for the gals with two floors to peruse at the recently renovated Mod Club on College.
Toastr Cocktail Social
Also on the 23rd, the first ever Pride Cocktail Social will see bountiful bevvies for all the Betty’s, taking over BerBer Social Club on Front Street, gearing up for a rollicking night of revelry and dancing that is Toastr.
The send off, the big show, the hot ticket. The June 24th parade will bring everything into one giant extravaganza, with floats, fun and flair. We’re stoked to hear that our fave Schitt’s Creek cast will be featured, and we know Dan Levy’s character David’s black and white signature wardrobe will look stunning against a backdrop of rainbows…and nudity.
