Living with a corgi means accepting that dog hair is basically part of the décor. Harley sheds constantly — and I mean constantly. There is always a little bits of fur across every inch of the floor and vacuuming has become a daily sport. So, perhaps it was only fitting that Harley’s very first commercial was actually for a robot vacuum. That’s right — my introduction to robot vacuums came courtesy of my dog! Fast forward a few years, and I’ve gone from watching Harley work alongside one to actually putting vacuums to the test in our home. And if a robot vacuum can keep up with an always-shedding corgi (and his visiting furpals) well, that’s a pretty darn good test in my books! Our latest review is the Roborock Qrevo 2 Pro Series.
The main features of the Roborock Qrevo 2 Pro :
- This smart roaming machine can vacuum AND mop simultaneously.
- It’s easy to assemble right out of the box.
- It self cleans.
- The accompanying app offers the user control and insights in the machine’s work in progress.

Out of the box and bo!
Assembling new household appliances and tools can be daunting for many. But the Roborock Qrevo 2 Pro Series required minimal assembly right out of the box. There is a home docking base and the roaming vacuum itself. There are two detachable circular “mops” that pop on easily. The base holds two water tanks (clean and dirty).
You’ll need to find space in your home where the Roborock docking base is close to an electrical outlet and with enough clearance for the vacuum to roam in and out without obstacles.
Smart vacuum AND mop in one
This was the true test and I made sure there was two days worth of corgi glitter (yes, we call it that because his strands of two-inch hairs are everywhere) on the floor and carpets. The main floor has a few different surfaces to clean; hardwood, low pile as well as loop pile area rugs, and a kitchen made of natural stone with an uneven texture.
The Roborock Qrevo 2 Pro could recognize the different surfaces and is smart enough to generally know what would be the best cleaning application would be for each without me having to program anything in. I was really curious about how this would work as I followed it like a helicopter parent on the first day of school.
The Roborock Qrevo 2 Pro Series is impressive. After connecting the vacuum to the Roborock App on my iPhone, the first step was to let the vacuum roam to “map” out the footprint of overall space. This allowed it to learn the layout of the space it needs to work with including stairs. It also is smart enough to detect high traffic areas (e.g. front door, back door) for a little heavier cleaning. Once it has captured the footprint then it was go time!

Roborock Qrevo 2 Pro is smart
What really was impressive about the Roborock Qrevo 2 Pro was how this vacuum could suck in debris AND mop on surface where needed. More importantly it recognized where to stop mopping as it approached the area rugs. Phew!
First the vacuum. It does a great job roaming around sucking up debris and sweeping. There is a small extension that has soft bristles to get into corners. It also has a duo roller head with technology to collect longer hair strands like mine and not get wrapped around or tangled. It also has a Hepa filter that helps keep allergens under control. Great for pet homes!
When it came to the mopping the two circular soft pads did a great job on the wood floors. It would release the right amount of water to clean. No excess water that puddled. The soft pads actually extended out to get into harder to reach areas that the base can’t get itself into.
Cleaning the roaming vacuum and the mop pads are important. It’s smart enough to clean itself. It empties itself right into the base where there’s a removable and disposable debris bag and dirty water from mopping also gets emptied right into the base reservoir. The whole system also will clean the mopping pads after each use. Mind you, you do need to ensure there is enough clean water in the base. Note, it’s wise to dump out any water (clean and dirty) after each use so nothing is sitting.

The Roborock App real-time notifications
Consider this your control panel. It’s very useful to keep tabs on what’s going on including in the moment status of where it’s roaming, if it needs to go back to the docking station, if it needs more water, it if needs a moment to self clean.
You can override the default settings and adjust cleaning preferences. You can also program the Roborock to clean while you’re at work or Pilates.
The standard cleaning with this Roborock Qrevo 2 Pro is pretty impressive especially since I vacuum daily. But through the app you can customize the cleaning you’d like this machine to do. You can personalize the cleaning sequence and even set preferences for each area of the house. With a dog in the house and with visitors with mild allergies, I can set the robot vacuum to do full vacuum and full mop rather than let it decide what needs to be done.
The app also allows you to easily program the Roborock Qrevo 2 Pro to run in specific rooms like the kitchen and dining room after dinner at the end of the day. You can also set up it to vacuum without the mop and many more cleaning options.
What I liked about the Roborock Qrevo 2 Pro
The Roborock Qrevo 2 Pro will actually tell you what it’s about to do. When it needs fresh water. When it needs to recharge. When it needs to clean itself even if it’s mid-job. Then once the required needs are met, it will resume the job.
It’s also cool to see how it navigates the space avoiding obstacles that might have been left on the floor including the dog’s food and water bowls and his toys. It also did a great job in not chewing up electrical cords that might have been forgotten to be lifted off the floor before I set it to clean. I was also relieved to see how its sensors knew not to fall down the stairs. We have an open staircase.
The convenience of having one device that vacuums and mops is really handy. But I particularly love having the self-cleaning feature on the mop pads. Not only does it wash the pads but dries them as well all right in the docking base. The debris catch bin also empties itself after each use so no hands get dirty. You still have to empty out the liquid bins and eventually the debris bag. Both are straight forward and not fiddly.

What it didn’t do
It didn’t recognize the nature stone floor as worthy of mopping as it roamed around our main floor space, but I can understand why. Because of its uneven surface the sensors wouldn’t have known how to handle mopping over the stone floor. It did do a straight forward vacuum.
Majority of obstacles were detected by its sensors however, we did have to remove the dining room chairs as well as the kitchen stools so the robot vacuum could get to where it needed.
Final thoughts
Overall, the Roborock Qrevo Pro 2 is a great robot vacuum to have at home. It’s very easy to assemble and maintain. It does a great job in sweeping up debris off most surfaces. The mopping is an added bonus and ideal for those who are too lazy to double up that cleaning duty.
It took the device approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes to complete the job on our main floor.
How we introduced our dog to Roborock Qrevo 2 Pro
Introducing a pet to a new household appliance, especially a roaming one, takes a bit of time. I set up the Roborock in obvious sight and where it would be stationed for a couple of days before even charging it. Our dog was curious but cautious like most other new home appliance introduced into our home.
When it came time to charge and run the mapping mode we remained within range of our dog and calmly went out about daily activity without reacting. A few days later we had the vacuum and mop running but started with a small area before working its way to a full clean.
Was our corgi okay with it? He tolerates it even though he’s not a big fan of vacuums in general. At first he was curious as a woman’s voice would announce its actions and moved around on its own. Now that he’s familiar with it, he just gets out of its way while keeping an eye on it. His girlfriend didn’t seem phased by it at all when she visited.
I personally wouldn’t run the vacuum with the dog at home and without a family member being present as well.

The current price of this model is $1299.99 msrp on the official site. But I would keep an eye out for any promotions too.
